Kostal smart energy meter

The KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter is a metering device that measures electrical parameters and provides them to the inverter via LAN or RS485. The device is not an active electricity meter within the meaning of EU Directive 2004/22/EC (MID) and may be used indoors only.

The data collected by the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter regarding an installation’s electricity production may differ from that of the main energy meter.

The KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter belongs to overvoltage category III and is therefore only allowed to be connected in the switching substation or switchgear on the consumer side after the power distribution company’s energy meter (PDC) and is only suitable for indoor use.
